Under The Influence!

Under the influence
I surely am,
I’m silly with joy
And laugh and dance!

My heart is goofy
And sings with glee,
I love SOMEONE
And He loves me.

I’m under the influence
Of the Holy Ghost,
Indulging His power
In Christ I boast.

My cup is full
My thirst satisfied,
I’m under the influence
Of Jesus Christ!

You make me glad by Your deeds, O Lord; I sing for joy at the work of Your hands. Psalm 92:4

Jesus Paid It All!

For those who have a problem understanding and accepting God’s grace: We can’t do anything to save ourselves. God doesn’t require our blood – He requires/required Jesus’ blood. We can try and we can “work”, but salvation comes through Christ and Him alone. Any strength we have and any power enabling us to turn from sin and accept the gift of salvation comes in and through Jesus Christ. That is God’s grace and He never stops extending it to all who are lost. No, He doesn’t require our blood. All He asks for is our heart!

It is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:8-10

A Heart Full!

Do you think your heart will burst
‘Cause God is living there?
Only He can fill it up
As He knocks out all despair.

Like a balloon that says REJOICE
And soars above it all,
Flying high up in the sky
With Him it cannot fall.

With wings it rises up
Joy moves it into flight,
We hear resounding praise
Every morning, noon, and night.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope,
because You will not abandon me to the grave, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay. You have made known to me the paths of life;  You will fill me with joy in Your presence.” Acts 2:26-28

He Calls!

God’s call can come so softly
Like a gentle breeze a swaying,
Or loudly like the thunder
When a needy soul is praying.

But when His call does come
Pay attention, heed Him well,
He has a purpose for you
His timing soon will tell…

Never fear and never falter
Go forth in Jesus name,
His Spirit will empower you
Your life won’t be the same.

He requires our obedience
Our full worship as we go,
As we obey Him, He will use us
For His glory…don’t say “no”.

Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness….If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, made useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. 2 Timothy 2:19, 21

The Power!

Lord, release Your Holy power
Through the Spirit You have given,
Stir up His Holy fire
So that souls of men are driven.

Might we crave a fresh outpouring
An empowerment by You,
To make impact, make a difference
In what we say and do.

Give us boldness, give us courage
Help us seek all that we need,
To share the TRUTH of Jesus
In thought and word and deed.

Jesus left the Holy Spirit
When He left to reign on high,
We need His gift of power
More than ever is our cry!

Behold, I send the Promise of my Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:49

My Opinion!

This is my opinion, BUT I’m going to share it anyway: for all the talk and debate re: the problems America has and how to fix them, who knows best, who cares the most, who is right and who is wrong, who is saying what and which makes the most sense, what should be done and how to get on the right track…we aren’t hearing about turning to God so that He can and will fix the problems we all share if we are Americans and desire our nation be under His influence and control. He is the ONLY answer to what ails us and if we attempt to fix America without Him – well, it just isn’t going to happen! We might think we’re strong and can be/get stronger, but we are weak without Him and we can all see that we are growing weaker as a nation. Just as with Israel, He is trying to get our attention, so there is yet hope. Everything man can imagine as a way to solve the country’s “issues” has no bearing if the foundation is not God and His Word. Whether one is a believer or not won’t change who God is and what His plan is – or His judgement(s). Turning to Him as individuals for salvation is crucial, but the nation needs also to turn to Him if we’re to be saved. Think through these words: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” says the Lord.” (2 Chronicles 7:14) It isn’t too late – yet!
