Archives for September 2012

Change comes and we accept, because we must, though with regret.
And things happen, life is such we must adapt to stay in touch.
But yearn we do for days gone by, when life seemed simple for you and I;
Most everything was black and white, there was wrong and there was right.
There was evil and there was good, people lived the way they should.

Character you’d emulate, bad behavior you knew to hate.
Respect and honor were taught to all, with many heroes and many would fall.
Freedom meant love and God and home, there was pride when our flag was flown.
Anti Americans were very few, there’d have been shock if any we knew.
It was believed our nation was blessed, that no matter what she’d stand the test.
With God to guide and carry us through, there weren’t any limits to what we could do!

Things are so different in this different day, hearts are fearful and filled with dismay.
God is still with us but are we with Him? Have we gone far astray, is the future quite dim?
All of the virtues we once stood upon, God’s Word and His truth are now said to be wrong.
What used to matter to man and to God, is ignored and abused, distorted and flawed.
What will it take to get America back? To who we once were and on the right track?
*Repentance of sin – that’s what God says, turning from evil and our wicked ways.
He holds the future and us in His hand, will He save America if we don’t take a stand?
Praying and standing for God we must do, there’s no wiggle room for me and for you.
Yielding to Him and down on our knees, giving ourselves and begging Him “Please”…..
“Lord, save our nation if it be thy will. You are the answer, we’re believing it still.”!!

*2 Chronicles 7:14 ~ “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” says the Lord.

Book Of Life!

The greatest book ever written
Is the Bible, God’s Holy Word,
But there is another book of His
About it, you have heard.

It is the Book Of Life
A list of who is who,
And if we know the Savior
It has our names there – me and you.

Those who know the Lamb
He is Jesus, He is King,
And contained within this book
Are those who gladly praise His Name.

He is lifted high
So others take a look,
At this Savior of all mankind
Who owns this precious book.

If we can see the list
And on it find our name,
Our joy is complete
And we’ll never be the same.

The wonder of it all
Is to know that we belong,
That God has placed us in His book
When our souls for Christ He won.

And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the book. Revelation 20:12
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing by any means shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:19 & 20

“Good” Hearts!

A good heart – an achievement to be sure.
One that speaks of love and care and one we say is pure.

Are there really good hearts or is the description wrongly placed?
What is in a heart shows in a person’s eyes and face.

We can strive to have a good heart and wish that it were so.
But Christ alone and only He, can change a heart where love will grow.

Examining and analyzing our own heart tells us true,
Our words speak what is held within; it’s the same for me and you.

All of us can ask our Lord to clean our heart from sin.
That can happen only when Jesus lives within.

It is a constant chore that He will gladly do,
But we must yield our hearts so He can make them fresh and new!

Every day, throughout each day (and night), this is important and necessary according to Jesus in God’s Word…Matthew 15:18 & 19 ~ “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts….”
