Our Hope Is In Him!

Our only hope and it is best
Is found In Jesus, He is our rest.
We know to turn to Him each day
To find the truth, to know the way;
His joy, His hope, His peace we claim
He is our Savior, He is the KING.

This I call to mind and therefore I have hope; Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. Lamentations 3: 21-22

Just thinking…

thoughts of you today. And not just you, but also you and you…the ones I love. I am thankful for the people in my life – those blessings and treasures that I’ve been given. Many are family and many are friends. You know who you are and all the reasons I am thankful for you!

We go through life taking much for granted, including those we love and who love us back. But even in the taking for granted (after all, we’ve all taken for granted a gift from time to time), we know that we’ve been favored to know such dear ones whether family or friend.

If life were a menu, and it seems sometimes that it is, would we choose the heartiness of the fare, the delicacies presented, the “new items” to be enjoyed? Would the comfort foods be our choice? Would the dessert course never come? Over a lifetime, our friends list includes many personalities that compliment us, agree with us, sharpen us, delight us, bring upset as well as have a calming effect on our friendship/relationship. Such a vast array of good things, wonderful treats, “new item” opportunities…all that reminds me of those I love and appreciate.

God has blessed me with many gifts – Jesus and salvation and eternal life. His blessings are endless. Those He has placed in my life, through my life, I am ever grateful for and will ever be!

Every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17

Grace!

I’ve noticed that the Father
Won’t force Himself in to,
A heart that keeps refusing
His gift, the love that’s true.

His grace is always reaching
And extends to stubborn souls,
He longs to show His mercy
And make the broken whole.

He waits with gentle kindness
His compassion knows no bounds,
His tender invitation
Is for the lost to still be found!

You are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Nehemiah 9:17

I Asked God!

I asked God to bless today
My Facebook friends along their way –

To make them strong in their faith
To bless them with continued grace,
To meet their needs no matter what
To remind them of all they’ve got…

A Savior and eternal friend
One whose love has no end,
His presence with them every day
His kept promise that He’ll stay…

In circumstances of each one’s life
Those with joy and those of strife,
That they will trust and not deny
In light of day or dark of night!

I know God heard
He always does,
And in His great, abiding love;

He answers prayers re: all my friends
I never doubt it’s true,
His work in hearts and lives and homes
Is what He likes to do!

From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another. ~ John 1:16

America The Blessed!

America the beautiful
America the blessed,
God’s goodness and mercy…
North and south, east to west.

America has become
A very different place,
It can’t be denied…
A reality we must face.

But God is the same
As He was yesterday,
His plan is perfect
No need for dismay.

Yet our concerns
Can be turned into prayer,
We can take them to Him
And then leave them there.

He is Sovereign
And has the final say,
The future of America
Will play out His way!

2 Chronicles 7:14 ~ “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” says the Lord.

Maker Of All!

The green of the trees
And the cows on the hills,
Remind me of God
And promises fulfilled.

He owns it all
From season to season,
All creation is His
And for only one reason…

He receives glory
From all that He’s made,
He deserves honor
And to always be praised!

…for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. ~ Psalm 50:10
For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth…Colossians 1:16a

Coming On A cloud!

The clouds fill the sky above
So many and so bright,
I wonder…
Maybe one of them will carry Jesus Christ!

You know He’s coming in a cloud
When He returns to claim,
Those who’ve placed their trust in Him
Those who call upon His name.

Will His return be soon
Or linger for some time?
He’s always waiting patiently
For hearts to change, and minds.

The minutes turn to hours
And the days turn in to years,
But His coming will be swift and sure
Midst joy and midst tears.

Please don’t wait or hesitate
Make up your mind today,
Be prepared, don’t be late
He is the only Way!

Receive Him in your heart
So you’ll be heaven bound,
Repent of sin, enter in
When you hear the trumpet’s sound!

Jesus said, “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” ~ Luke 21:25-28

Could We, Would We!

Could we give up what is precious to us?
Would we if push comes to shove,
Were we born for a time such as this?
Led by our Father’s love.

Some men are strong and some are so weak
And some just won’t take a stand,
But God gave us freedom and expects us to fight
For our blessed and God-given land.

As trouble is brewing and many feel fear
And the writing is on the wall,
Our nation is crumbling without and within
And continues in its free fall.

God knows His plan and looks after man
To seek Him for answers so wise,
Midst all confusion and mankind’s delusion
It’s crucial we each turn to Christ.

No matter the state our states end up in
Or if they survive overall,
We best never wait until it’s too late
To repent and respond to God’s call.

God says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2

He Knows My Heart!

Thank You, God
For knowing my heart,
For loving me always
For each day’s new start.

Only You could know who I am
…If I seek Your will,
And Your purpose
And plan.

Thank You for giving me
Choice and free will,
To abide in Your presence
Seeking Your will.

Trusting, obeying
Looking to please,
Allowing Your Spirit
Access to me!

My sin held me bound
But now I am free,
No man or opinion
Comes between You and me!

I walk with You
My chains are all gone,
Guilt and suspicion
I no longer dwell on.

I know where I’m going
And where I will be,
To Jesus and heaven
Through eternity!

I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure. Psalm 16:8-9

Christmas Time Again!

The snow is softly falling
And it’s Christmas time again,
Time to go back in time
And remember once again…

That Jesus was a baby
Before He became a man,
And He was sought by evil
And chased throughout the land.

He grew and walked with many
Who followed Him each day,
And watched Him as He lived
As He taught them how to pray.

They watched Him walk on water
And turn water into wine,
And saw how He was hated
By those whose hearts were blind.

His birthday every year
Is one many celebrate,
But like when He was young
There are those who’d rather hate…

Hate this love filled Savior
Who is King and ever reigns,
Who died and rose again
To save us…the reason that He came!

His life was all about us
And His death proved it was so,
And now for those who seek Him
Like the Wise Men long ago…

They will find Him when they look
And He is waiting there,
And even those who hate His name
Could find Him if they care.

His heart is always open
And He reaches out His hand,
He didn’t favor just a few
When He died for all of man.

No, He’s there for everyone
It was planned before His birth,
God looked down and sent His gift
For every man on earth.

He left that manger in the stable
And traveled far and wide,
Seeking those to save
Even those who choose to hide.

His love is open and inclusive
And He waits so patiently,
And Christmas time like any time
Is a time to be set free.

Some gifts are conditional
But God’s gift of love is not,
His Son He gave to everyone
The price of sin He bought.

The traditions that we celebrate
Around the Christmas tree,
Begin and end with Jesus
And His love for you and me!

In His quiet presence
As excitement builds and then,
The joy of His coming
Should overwhelm all men.

We sing our songs of joy
About His love that is divine,
And we celebrate and contemplate
Again…it’s Christmas time!
