At The Beach…
...there are no perfect shells
Well, maybe there's rarely one,
But most are broken and battered
And bleached by the white, hot sun.
Many wash in and go back out
The ocean just won't let go,
Others remain and cling to the sand
And might move with the tide's ebb and flow.
They are pretty and plain; all of them are
Unique and interesting to see,
I'm reminded by them and picture that God
Might see shells as He sees you and me!
We're broken and battered and weak on our own
Tossed about on the waves of our lives,
God settles us down and anchors our souls
When we cling to Jesus Christ.
Shells in the sand will move all about
And be snatched by weather and man,
We, too, will lose our mooring
If on Christ, we don't firmly stand!
God created the shells and what grows within
He created the people He loves,
But He sent Christ to die only for man
And it's that, shells make me think of.
O come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
Psalm 95:6
Quiet Down!
Teach me Lord
To quiet down,
To still my soul
Against all sound.
To rest my heart
So I might see,
What You have
To say to me.
It's hard to hear
Your still small voice,
Unless I'm quiet -
It is my choice.
Teach me, and I will be
quiet; show me where I
have been wrong. Job 6:24
Blessings!
God gives us blessings
One by one,
His gifts go on
And are never done.
His hand of mercy
Extends beyond,
What I want
And focus on.
He gives me more
Than I can ask,
All I need
From His storehouse vast.
From the fullness of His grace
we have all received one blessing
after another. John 1:16
My Hero!
Who is my hero?
I'll let you guess,
He's more than just awesome
And passes each test;
He's kind and sincere
One to count on,
No character flaws
Always right, never wrong.
He's proved himself over
And over to me,
I'm so very thankful
His love set me free.
Now do you know
Have you figured it out?
My hero is Christ
There's no shadow of doubt!
You turned my wailing into dancing;
You removed my sackcloth and
clothed me with joy, that my heart
may sing to You and not be silent.
O Lord, my God, I will give You

The Lord is my strength and my
shield; my heart trusts in Him, and
I am helped. My heart leaps for joy
and I will give thanks to Him in song.

Crisis!
Oh, the upheaval
In life we go through,
When things seem to settle
Another crisis breaks through.
It makes for emotions
That go up and go down,
A roller coaster in action
Or a merry go round!
No matter how scattered
And all over the place,
Our feelings can settle
When God's in our space.
Crisis is constant
It surely seems so,
But when He is with us
We can be high when we're low.
We never can know
What to expect day to day,
Whether trauma or drama
The Lord makes it okay!
Those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength. They
will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
Family Blessings!
I'm so thankful for my family
The blessings of them all,
God is good to give them
And I love them one and all.
Friends are neat to have
And special in special ways,
But God and family mean the most
And belong to us always.
When we are down or wander
And need the love that binds,
Our family gathers 'round us
Most always all the time.
And when we lose each other
There's a spot that can't be filled,
So we hold on tight forever
To the memories we can build.
However God has made us
To be a family,
His heart of love for each of us
Supports our family tree!
Thank You, God, for the gift
and blessings of my family!
Hearts Invaded or Invaded Heart!
Life is so imperfect
Just as humans are,
We need to guard our hearts
Not leave them open and ajar;
Only God should enter
And His goodness find its place,
Nothing from the enemy
Should ever take up space.
Sins that seem so innocent
Come to us in sweet disguise,
We're duped into believing
Sugar coated lies.
God wants to give protection
And help us lock the door to pain,
He wants full rights to our heart
To be the One to always reign.
We each know what has crowded
Him from the place He used to be,
He's reaching out - calls our name
He longs to set us free!
Blessed are they that keep
His testimonies, and that seek
Him with the whole heart. With
my whole heart have I sought
thee: O let me not wander from
thy commandments. Psalm 119:2, 10
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my
prayer. From the end of the earth will
I cry unto thee, when my heart is
overwhelmed: lead me to the rock
that is higher than I. Psalm 61:1-2
It Is Him!
When it comes to the Word of God
And the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
We must adhere to the Truth
Not waver, not compromise.
Often deceit sounds good
But alert we must always be,
Those without the truth of God
We need to clearly see.
So bury our heads we must never do
Or fall for evil made "nice",
God commands our voice be heard
To speak out for Jesus Christ.
Dressed in full armor, standing firm
Being not afraid or ashamed,
It is Jesus we follow no matter what
It is Him we loudly proclaim.
No other word or gospel
None that sounds good to man,
Will ever change hearts and be able to reach
When only Jesus can!
As we have said before, so now
I say again, if anyone preaches any
other gospel to you than what you
have received, let him be accursed.
For do I now persuade men, or God?
Or do I seek to please men? For if I
still pleased men, I would not be a
servant of Christ. Galatians 1:9&10
Shaking And Sifting?
God, are You shaking and sifting Your own
Bringing men to You and to You alone?
Wooing, preparing those who will come
Placing their faith in Your only dear Son?
Is time of the essence for all to decide
Is Your Spirit now calling, drawing souls to Your side?
Is Your love and Your mercy extending still more
Will Your fairness and justice rock the world to its' core?
When, is the question, will it be soon
When Christ comes again to bring souls to You?
Has the message gone out to all parts that it must
That You sent a Savior and Him we can trust?
O Lord, as You call the lost to please come
Might many respond, might Your will be done!
His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from
generation to generation. Luke 1:50
He Is Waiting!
O, the love God has for man
Is often hard to understand,
He's ignored and made little of
And many deny His saving love.
Yet He calls each one by name
Loving all just the same,
Always reaching down to man
Extending grace with outstretched hand.
His patience seems to not wear out
He is waiting, there's no doubt
For hearts to turn and souls receive
His gift of Christ - who will believe?
The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love. Psalm 145:8
