Speak Out For Life!

Silence…as they were marched to the ovens.
Silence…many were unaware.
Silence, but God saw and He knew!

Silence…as they were marched to the clinics.
Silence…many were unaware.
Silence…but God saw and He knew!

…and it continues, the taking of life that belongs to God.
Not as much silence and more awareness, but every abortion is too many and must be stopped.

Life is precious and Life is good and Life is God’s!

Speak out against abortion…SPEAK OUT FOR LIFE!

Today!

Hmm…what does today hold in store
Will it bring joy and peace and hope for me,
Will I be content as I wait upon the Lord
What will today be like for me?
I think that if I give it to God
Today will be full of surprises and good,
Why would I do anything else
Give it to Him, I should!
When He’s in control each day goes well
I know it to be true,
To focus on Him and yield to His power
Is best for me and you!

How great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, which You bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in You.” Psalm 31:19

Some Thoughts!

As I am getting older and have lived more of life, I find that I am thinking more and more of the importance of having a stronger relationship with God through Jesus Christ. I find that I am longing more for discovering what scripture says regarding this and that, and actually wake up and go to sleep with this yearning in my heart to know more of my Savior and His Word.

Set age aside…I also think the times in which we live are bringing me to this conclusion: without Christ I am lost (we all are) and without His truth and applying it, we as individuals and we as a nation, have no hope. What sense does it make to ignore and/or put God in a compartment (religion) when without Him, we are doomed? It makes much more sense to open our hearts and minds and lives and homes and churches and nation(s) to His wisdom and His plan and purpose for mankind now and for eternity!

As He and His Word is scoffed at and dismissed, the opportunity of a lifetime (literally) is lost and foolish living and decisions become (have become) the norm of the day. But in reality, He is on the throne and will not be moved just because He is ignored. His answer(s) and decisions still stand and will forever. He is all powerful. Man is not. He can save man and nations. Man cannot – without turning to Him. It is He who blesses men and nations – not man. In truth, we owe our allegiance to Him and it behooves us to pay attention to His teaching(s) and to seek His truth and wisdom in all areas of our lives.

As I ponder what is happening in our nation because of what is happening in our hearts, it becomes ever more clear that we need God’s heart. That is what I want – for me. His heart to love others; to forgive and show mercy; to be obedient to His Word; to share Christ and His love; to seek to do God’s will; to be helpful rather than harmful in my contacts with others; to pray as never before that the lost will be found – in Christ!

How can anything I do or have in life compare in importance to living for the One who gave it all to me? Nothing can! And now I’m at a place where I want nothing to get in the way of God’s place in my heart and in my life. Is it aging or the times? Is it both? I don’t know and I don’t care – I’m just glad I’m there!

There is no peace or joy like that which comes from knowing Jesus Christ. So there is no sense in striving for or pointing others any place else. He wants to be our all. I want to let Him be mine. And I pray that individuals and our nation come to this conclusion as well. Revival comes to mind. My prayer is this: Lord, let there be revival in our land and let it begin with me!

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding. To Him belongs eternal praise. Psalm 11:10
Wisdom makes one wise man more powerful than ten rulers in a city. Ecclesiastes 7:19
Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 24:14
Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon. Isaiah 55:6-7

Shine!

Shine Your light into our hearts
Make them bright for You,
Remove the awful darkness there
Get rid of doom and gloom.
Let the peace of Christ dwell there
Might joy be ever flowing,
Clear out the sad and lonely thoughts
As Your light of love is glowing.
Lift us up and hold us tight
As we bring our troubles to You,
Let our hearts be light and bright
And filled with faith anew.
Put a smile upon our face
As our confidence in You grows,
All Your goodness and Your truth
Is the answer, we all know.
Restore the joy and love for You
As well as for all others,
Renew our righteous longing(s)
As we share with one another.
Let us be a beacon
With the light that shines within,
Let others see the Christ in us
The Savior for all men.
And as we go through life each day
Help us to remember,
You live Your life in each of us
We only need surrender!

Jesus said, “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” ~ Matthew 5:16

The Love Of God!

We all have the love of God
He really loves us so,
But if WE had the love of God
There wouldn’t be such woe!
Our hearts because they’re human
Won’t share what most we need…
The power of the love of God
In thought and word and deed.
He gives His love so freely
It’s there to shed abroad,
But we close our hearts and selfishly
Hang on to the love of God!
There’s so much love to go around
And the need for it is great,
God pours His love into our hearts
There should be no room for hate!
Our world could be so different
It could be in a better place,
If we gave the love He gives to us
With His forgiveness and His grace.
Why do we want to hoard it
This love that has changed our life?
If we let it all go, others will know
The power of the love of Christ!

This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10
We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 us.

New Start!

Tell me what I long to hear
That Jesus loves me, that He’s near,
Help me fully realize
Just where I stand in His eyes.

Am I good and am I right
How do I look in His sight?
Is there something I should do?
Many things or just a few?

Questions asked, confusion cleared
The answer many need to hear,
Repentance, giving heart to Christ
Changing course and yielding life;
Loving God and others, too
A completely different point of view…

All results of a seeking heart
And the gift of Christ with a brand new start!

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, ” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
God our Savior saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:5

Protection!

God is our protection
In any storm in life,
In every way and every day
He’s our Refuge in all strife.

No man can ever hurt us
At risk of life or limb,
God always has us covered
Our safety is in Him.

The threat may overwhelm us
And panic overtake,
But fear can be dismissed
When our lives on Christ we stake!

You’ve heard the statement, “I’ve got your back”. That would be Jesus. He will let no harm befall us!

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, “Destroy him!” Deuteronomy 33:27
The Lord loves the just and will not forsake His faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off. Psalm 37:28

Heavenly Room!

I walked into a crowded room
Not knowing anyone,
Wondering who they were
And where they each were from.

As I heard their voices
And what was being said,
My heart was moved and lifted
Even while I bowed my head.

Conversations all around me
Spoke of joy and peace and love,
And I quickly understood
They spoke of God above.

My comfort level grew
We shared a common bond,
Jesus was among us
And our praise for Him was strong.

I humbly bowed before Him
So thankful for God’s grace,
And for the souls He saved
Who were gathered in this place!

This “room” may be what heaven will be like until we begin to recognize those who’ve gone before! Our praise and hallelujahs will sing out and ring out for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.” Revelation 19:6

“Beautiful Ride”

Beautiful rock formations
And beautiful countryside,
So much to see for you and for me
As we go for a beautiful ride.

In the midst of the change of seasons
As the weather changes to cool,
The highways and byways transport us
And give us a different view.

Sunsets are awesome and glorious
But we’ve seen one to top them all,
The sky over Missouri, magnificent
Created by God without flaw!

Yours is the day, Yours also the night; You have established the heavenly lights and the sun. You have fixed the boundaries of the earth; You have made summer and winter. Psalm 74:16-17

“Homeward Bound”

Take me home when You’re ready
To the place You have made for me,
To my mansion on high, where You’ve called me nigh
And where I have longed to be.

To be dwelling there with my Savior
And those who have gone before,
With angels around us, and love to surround us
Who would ever want more?

I wait for Your call to come homeward
My time is dependent on You,
My life’s in Your hands, like the sea’s shifting sands
I rejoice as I’m waiting for You.

Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:2-3
