“Homeward Bound”

Take me home when You’re ready
To the place You have made for me,
To my mansion on high, where You’ve called me nigh
And where I have longed to be.

To be dwelling there with my Savior
And those who have gone before,
With angels around us, and love to surround us
Who would ever want more?

I wait for Your call to come homeward
My time is dependent on You,
My life’s in Your hands, like the sea’s shifting sands
I rejoice as I’m waiting for You.

Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:2-3

Traveling!

While traveling with a purpose
I couldn’t help but see,
The many roads and highways
Meandering through fields and trees.

They all are going somewhere
Each will find its end,
Each is named upon a map
And may take one to a friend.

Depending upon the tools we use
We can usually find our way,
And if we’re lost and off the track
We’ll find another way.

Not so with life and God’s plan for man
There is only one route to take,
The direction’s clear and oh, so near
The choice is ours to make.

He’ll lead and He will guide
And push us to move along,
He’ll correct and point us home
When the turns we take are wrong.

The highway to heaven is narrow
But Jesus will take us there,
The road with the end that matters
Will lead us to God…through a prayer*!

*THE prayer…Thank You, God, for Jesus death for me on the cross. Forgive me of my sin. Help me turn to You and live for You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Keeping It Simple!

We needn’t be elaborate
In what we do for Him,
He simply wants our hearts
From beginning to the end.

He knows when we are acting
And if the mask is old and tight,
He simply wants our love
And that our hearts with Him be right.

They say the simple things in life
Are the best that there could be,
God wants us to be simple
In His reality.

Giving what we have to Him
Who simply gave His all,
Being always ready
Every time we hear His call;

To simply serve Him with our hearts
To share the simple and profound,
That He simply saved us to be His
And to simply spread His love around!

There is nothing simple about God or His love or His plan to set men free through the gift of Jesus Christ, but we are simply called to respond to His invitation and to simply say “Yes”. It is as simple as that! This says it all:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“And now, Israel, what does the Lord require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul…” Deuteronomy 10:12

I Wonder Why…

I wonder why eyes don’t see
Ears don’t hear…
It confuses me!

I look around at what is real
It is no joke
Just what’s the deal?

People want to believe a lie
They turn away
And they deny…

That God is real, He really is
He makes things plain
He can settle this!

A world gone mad and all because
He’s ignored, replaced
With manmade laws.

If only man would realize
God loves us so
And has devised…

A plan so great to clean us up
To save us, bless us
With undying love…

To give a chance, more than one
To repent, restore
All though His Son.

But eyes are blind, choose not to see
As God still waits
To set men free!

The world’s in trouble and it is clear
God is watching
He’s very near!

“Come, Lord Jesus”

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! – Revelation 22:20

Path Of Life!

Lord, I think that I would die
My heart would break and I would cry,
If You weren’t living in my heart…
You and I, never apart.

I couldn’t live without Your love
Without the power from above,
You set me free every day
To enjoy Your presence
Come what may!

I thank You, Jesus, for who You are
You are the one, bright shining star,
You light the way for me to go
You are my Lord, I love You so!

You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11

Sickness of Heart!

It is easy to forget the illness that attacks as hard and as strong as anything physical. Or the one that creeps up slowly as a mental illness. But the sickness of heart is as debilitating as either of the above.
There are many causes and reasons for this destructive “disease” that can set us back in our walk of faith. How sad that this sickness holds us captive and stunts our growth as Christians.
It blinds us to past and present blessings while our confused heart tries to make sense of what has happened to our once healthy heart! I’ve been there and though I knew the source, the beginning of my sickness of heart, paralysis had set in.
I couldn’t go forward – didn’t want to go back! So I stayed in a place of grief and anger at the circumstances. Even lost the ability to pray and praise! I hated where I was, but didn’t seem to know how to get past it.
God seemed far away. I felt no one could possibly understand my condition of heart. Over time I found my way back to a place of joy with the Lord; back to giving all my sorrow to Him. I came out of cynicism and darkness and into His light!
And now I know that this sickness of heart is real for others, too. My happy heart goes out to all the sad hearts who are still experiencing its effects. And my prayers are with them – for healing! I know the medicine and prescribed dosage includes patience. Patience to wait for God to “complete His good work in me” and waiting is a good thing. Especially when we can’t trust our decisions while our hearts are sick and suffering.
As the healing process begins and continues, the power of the Holy Spirit gently pulls us back into prayer. We’ll be reminded of God’s faithfulness through His Word as we begin to rely on it again.
Maybe as we grieve the time our heart sickness stalled us, we’ll know God used it to good advantage. This is what I learned in and through my journey of illness of heart. No medicine or doctor appointment cured me. Only God could and He did. He improved my sight and my insight and He restored the joy of my soul as my heart healed and grew to exploding because of Him – only Him!
Maybe you know someone who has this sickness of heart and want to reach out. Love them and be patient. Before I was stricken with this non physical illness, I’d always thought, “Why can’t he/she pull themselves up by the boot straps and move on?” I now know why it isn’t that simple.
Ecclesiastes 3:3-4 reminds me that there is a time for healing, a time for mourning. God knows the timing for each sick heart to recover and we can understand as we pray for His healing to bring light back into that hurting and precious one that belongs to Him. We can be assured He will finish the work He has begun.
The hope is in the healing and the healing brings hope!

“I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 33:6

Words Aptly Spoken!

Humble me Lord, I pray. Help me see error of my way. Help me see others the way You do…then pray. This is part of the prayer I pray today.
But Lord, I pray for so much more…that Your will be done to my core. Search my heart and make of me…someone who cares and loves humbly. Let me not judge or criticize, but be discerning as with Your eyes. Help me with words to make good sense and to share Your truth without offense. And as I yield my self to You, let what’s not of worth be struck from view. I so want to live my life Your way. So, help me dear Lord, do it today. And every day.
In Jesus Name, I pray.

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Proverbs 25:11
A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is! Proverbs 15:23
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Today!

Today looks to be one filled with blessing! God is so good and His awesomeness is every where I look. The birds are cheerfully singing, the sun is beautifully shining, the breeze is cool and refreshing and there are reminders all around that He is present and loving me! Might He be glorified today as He accomplishes all He desires to do – in hearts, in lives, in the universe He created! Praise Him and sing of His wonderful, magnificent love. Be thankful for His justice, His grace and His mercy. He is God and worthy to be praised!

You turned my wailing into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give You thanks forever. Psalm 30:11-12

What A Day!

What a day of wind and change
Weather patterns rearranged,
Sun emerging right on cue
Clouds to block my point of view!

Temperatures climbing
Then they fall;
Strange behavior
But all in all…
A lovely day
No matter conditions,
This day in May
Helps dispositions!

Nice weather is here
Or mostly so,
Thank You, God
Your blessings flow!

It is so great knowing that whatever the weather, God is in control. The sun boosts our spirits and who doesn’t love a bright sunny day? But all the days are a gift from God and should move us to joy and praise. Every day belongs to Him. We may be “up” on beautiful days and “down” on gloomy days. Not so God! He uses every day to His glory and our benefit. Thank You, God, that the weather is in Your hands – every day! Help us rejoice no matter the conditions outside and to be thankful for the gift of days!

This is the day which the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Heaven, My Home!

Heaven is my home
My final place to rest…
In the arms of Jesus
The place to be most blessed!

He came from there and went again
To prepare this home for me,
I know it will be my comfort zone
For all eternity!

I like my earthly home
And its memories of love,
There’s so much more to come
In my heavenly home above!

All in all, my real home
Is with my Lord and King,
And with family and friends…

IN HEAVEN, TO HIM WE’LL SING!

Praise Him forever. He is glorified; we are blessed!

O Lord, our Lord, the majesty of Your name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. Psalm 8:1
