God Is Awesome

God, You are awesome
My heart tells me so
It sees all Your splendor
Above and below.
And deep within my spirit
I’m inspired by all I see
To know You and to love You
Because You first loved me.

I look around at the awesome Fall colors and I see the hand of God in the beauty of the shades of the season. As the temperatures cool and there is a crispness to the air and the days get shorter, I know that He is at work painting His scenery for all to enjoy. This is the time of year when we are sad to see warm days behind us and cold days coming soon, but still are thanking God for each and every day He gives us. There is so much to enjoy as He blesses us with a breath of fresh air and a glimpse of the geese flying overhead and the clouds that chase each other through the sky. The steps we take through the fallen leaves crunch and crack them and somehow the sound has a cozy ring to it. As the flowers of Summer fade and wilt and the colors blend to drab, the Autumn mums and sumac bushes stand out among the stately trees with reds and golds and shades in between. God is awesome in every season and in each growth pattern and plan. We see His touch everywhere.

He is seen in every season of our lives as well and in the growth patterns we go through, so that His plan for our lives is realized. His awesomeness is revealed in His creation throughout. He is in control of His universe and He is in control of my life and yours if and when we allow Him to be. He colors our lives with His splendor and takes us from one season to another, allowing necessary changes to take place in our hearts for His glory and our benefit.

His Spirit guides and directs us and inspires us to place our trust in Jesus Christ, His gift of love, for salvation. And to live lives that honor and glorify Him. As I see His hand in nature and feel His touch in my heart, I am ever thankful for the changing seasons I enjoy because of Him.

The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
Job 33:4

How great are Your works, O Lord.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
