Our Powerful God

Our God is oh so powerful
He knows what’s going on
He’s not surprised by anything
He knows the right and wrong.

He’ll have His way in the end
We know He’s in control
No matter how it looks to us
He says that this is so.

We trust Him as we hold on tight
Won’t give up and won’t despair
Our faith will grow and joy, too
When we turn to God in prayer.

We live in a confusing and scary time. If we put our trust and confidence in any thing or any one other than Almighty God, we’ll be in constant uproar in our spirit. We’ll forget that God is in control and that the Maker of the universe is always in control. Circumstances change, people change, leaders change, governments change – face it, life is full of change.

God does not change – ever. He does, though, use the change(s) to accomplish His will and plan, in individuals and in nations. He knows the beginning and the end and all that happens in between. If we’ve placed our faith in Jesus Christ and trust Him for our salvation, we belong to God our Father. He will take care of us now and forever. We’ve nothing to fear as change comes and goes. He is strong to save us and He is strong to keep us. When the enemy – any enemy – attempts to shake us up, steal our faith, put us in a fearful state, we know our God holds us in the palm of His hand and won’t let go. We are living in times of change, but there is no better time to cling to our powerful and mighty Lord.

As our faith grows through prayer and pondering His Word, we’ll experience peace and joy. We’ll share His love with boldness and urgency so that others, too, might know Him as their Lord and Savior. And they also will find refuge in Him during the storms that change will bring. Run to God and thank Him for calm times and stormy times and that He is in control at all times. He is our powerful God!

“See, I have engraved you on the palm of my hands…”
Isaiah 49:16a

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9

I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.
Psalm 16:8-9
