Sharing Jesus

Lately I’ve had some thoughts
That I think I ought to share,
Thoughts about the length of life
And why that makes me care!
The more I’ve thought it over
The more I realize,
There isn’t time to waste
To tell others of Jesus Christ.
I talk about the weather
Share a recipe or two,
Recommend a doctor
And give my point of view.
But on a scale worth measure
And with value to proclaim,
The greatest “news” I have
Is contained in this one Name:
JESUS!
He is the Gift of life
And life can be so short,
The lost are needing guidance
To find their way to port.
They may not know Him now
But need to know Him soon,
Time and life is wasting
And there isn’t time to lose!
If I have a day
Or many days or years,
Will it be enough time
To tell those who need to hear;
The message of a Savior
Who brought redemption to all men,
Because He died to save us
And free us from our sin?
I only know I want to
And sense the urgency,
Of hearts that need attention
In this great emergency.
I think of all the masses
Of those who live but aren’t alive,
And know now more than ever
I must share the living Christ!

Life means nothing without Christ. It really doesn’t. The things we accomplish and acquire are great in and of themselves, but the real purpose of life is to bring glory to God. He created us for His glory and His purpose. He gifted us with salvation through Jesus Christ and we bring Him glory when we share Christ with those who’ve not yet heard that glorious “good news”! He isn’t a gift we want to horde or hide. We want to see more souls come in to God’s Kingdom because they have given their hearts to Christ – more souls spending eternity with God.

In talking with others of late, I realize I’m not alone where thoughts of urgency are concerned. The Holy Spirit seems to be prodding many in the direction of not wanting to waste the life God has given us. But to use the time wisely – for Him. Whatever each of us who love Him can do to reach those who don’t is worth doing.

I am asking Him to help me use my life/time wisely, not wastefully, as I seek opportunities to share His gift of life – Jesus Christ!

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Isaiah 6:8

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
Mark 16:15

“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
John 15:8

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and the life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12
