America The Blessed!

America the beautiful
America the blessed,
God’s goodness and mercy…
North and south, east to west.

America has become
A very different place,
It can’t be denied…
A reality we must face.

But God is the same
As He was yesterday,
His plan is perfect
No need for dismay.

Yet our concerns
Can be turned into prayer,
We can take them to Him
And then leave them there.

He is Sovereign
And has the final say,
The future of America
Will play out His way!

2 Chronicles 7:14 ~ “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” says the Lord.

Bring me back!

Forgive me, Lord, for walking away
For forgetting to listen to what You have to say,
For eyes that are blind
And ears that won’t hear
For a heart that is cold
To what You hold dear.

Draw me back
To where I belong,
To thinking what’s right
Instead of what’s wrong.

Remind me, Lord, like in days gone by
That You always hear my heart’s plaintive cry,
It is You I need and I want to be
Where I find joy and hope and Your peace.

Oh, Lord, draw me home
Might I fall to my knees,
Might my life bring You glory
I’m asking You, please!

It is the Lord Your God you must follow, and Him you must revere. Keep His commands and obey Him; serve Him and hold fast to Him. Deuteronomy 13:4

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:10

Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

Change comes and we accept, because we must, though with regret.
And things happen, life is such we must adapt to stay in touch.
But yearn we do for days gone by, when life seemed simple for you and I;
Most everything was black and white, there was wrong and there was right.
There was evil and there was good, people lived the way they should.

Character you’d emulate, bad behavior you knew to hate.
Respect and honor were taught to all, with many heroes and many would fall.
Freedom meant love and God and home, there was pride when our flag was flown.
Anti Americans were very few, there’d have been shock if any we knew.
It was believed our nation was blessed, that no matter what she’d stand the test.
With God to guide and carry us through, there weren’t any limits to what we could do!

Things are so different in this different day, hearts are fearful and filled with dismay.
God is still with us but are we with Him? Have we gone far astray, is the future quite dim?
All of the virtues we once stood upon, God’s Word and His truth are now said to be wrong.
What used to matter to man and to God, is ignored and abused, distorted and flawed.
What will it take to get America back? To who we once were and on the right track?
*Repentance of sin – that’s what God says, turning from evil and our wicked ways.
He holds the future and us in His hand, will He save America if we don’t take a stand?
Praying and standing for God we must do, there’s no wiggle room for me and for you.
Yielding to Him and down on our knees, giving ourselves and begging Him “Please”…..
“Lord, save our nation if it be thy will. You are the answer, we’re believing it still.”!!

*2 Chronicles 7:14 ~ “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” says the Lord.

Never A Day!

There is never a day without joy
And never a day without hope,
No matter the details of life
There is a way you can cope.

To cope in the name of Jesus
To call on Him through the pain,
Brings healing to heart and to mind
Will make you glad that you came…

Came to the throne of our Lord
Released your troubles to Him,
Knew as you walked away
You’d come back to Him once again!

Faith grew and trust did prosper
And revealed the truth to your heart,
The only way to cope with the pain
Was to visit Christ from the start.

Now the path to healing
Is used and rutted with wear,
The way it leads to joy and hope
Is to the One who your pain will bear!

Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefitswho forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3

Regrets – I have a few and I believe we all do!

If I could live life over again, thought more about what is sin…
There’d be so much I’d redo – what about you?

Unkind words, haughty looks
Friendships harmed, sometimes forsook!
None can say without a doubt
They know what love is all about!

We look to God whose love is real
No enemy can some and steal,
The love that lasts through thick and thin
The love that God gives to all men.
If only we could live this way
We’d have God’s peace come what may!

This season as I note the cross
What it took and God’s own loss…

I long to “give it all to Him”
To turn away from any sin;
That lingers still and holds me back
And leaves me open to stealth attack!

Instead my heart is open to
All it takes to start anew,
Giving back what I’ve received
The love of God to those in need,
His forgiveness, His “second chance”
His merciful and gracious stance;
Regrets forgotten, washed away
As the blood of Christ revealed the way…

To love, forgiveness, healing!

His love for us reveals how we can and should love others – for His glory.

Thank You, Jesus♥

We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19

Sickness of Heart!

It is easy to forget the illness that attacks as hard and as strong as anything physical. Or the one that creeps up slowly as a mental illness. But the sickness of heart is as debilitating as either of the above.
There are many causes and reasons for this destructive “disease” that can set us back in our walk of faith. How sad that this sickness holds us captive and stunts our growth as Christians.
It blinds us to past and present blessings while our confused heart tries to make sense of what has happened to our once healthy heart! I’ve been there and though I knew the source, the beginning of my sickness of heart, paralysis had set in.
I couldn’t go forward – didn’t want to go back! So I stayed in a place of grief and anger at the circumstances. Even lost the ability to pray and praise! I hated where I was, but didn’t seem to know how to get past it.
God seemed far away. I felt no one could possibly understand my condition of heart. Over time I found my way back to a place of joy with the Lord; back to giving all my sorrow to Him. I came out of cynicism and darkness and into His light!
And now I know that this sickness of heart is real for others, too. My happy heart goes out to all the sad hearts who are still experiencing its effects. And my prayers are with them – for healing! I know the medicine and prescribed dosage includes patience. Patience to wait for God to “complete His good work in me” and waiting is a good thing. Especially when we can’t trust our decisions while our hearts are sick and suffering.
As the healing process begins and continues, the power of the Holy Spirit gently pulls us back into prayer. We’ll be reminded of God’s faithfulness through His Word as we begin to rely on it again.
Maybe as we grieve the time our heart sickness stalled us, we’ll know God used it to good advantage. This is what I learned in and through my journey of illness of heart. No medicine or doctor appointment cured me. Only God could and He did. He improved my sight and my insight and He restored the joy of my soul as my heart healed and grew to exploding because of Him – only Him!
Maybe you know someone who has this sickness of heart and want to reach out. Love them and be patient. Before I was stricken with this non physical illness, I’d always thought, “Why can’t he/she pull themselves up by the boot straps and move on?” I now know why it isn’t that simple.
Ecclesiastes 3:3-4 reminds me that there is a time for healing, a time for mourning. God knows the timing for each sick heart to recover and we can understand as we pray for His healing to bring light back into that hurting and precious one that belongs to Him. We can be assured He will finish the work He has begun.
The hope is in the healing and the healing brings hope!

“I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 33:6

Who is really real
In every situation?
Are we seen as who we are;
Does that need some explanation?
I mean, do we ever fake it,
Do we act like all is fine?
When inside our heart is breaking…
Can people read between the lines?
Can we try to hide it,
All the pain and hurt inside?
And do we smile through it,
Set our sorrow to the side?
No matter if we’re honest
And if normally we’re real,
A happy face and pretense
Might hold us ’til we heal!

And prayerfully, because of God, we will heal!

“I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 33:6
