I Asked God!

I asked God to bless today
My Facebook friends along their way –

To make them strong in their faith
To bless them with continued grace,
To meet their needs no matter what
To remind them of all they’ve got…

A Savior and eternal friend
One whose love has no end,
His presence with them every day
His kept promise that He’ll stay…

In circumstances of each one’s life
Those with joy and those of strife,
That they will trust and not deny
In light of day or dark of night!

I know God heard
He always does,
And in His great, abiding love;

He answers prayers re: all my friends
I never doubt it’s true,
His work in hearts and lives and homes
Is what He likes to do!

From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another. ~ John 1:16

Coming On A cloud!

The clouds fill the sky above
So many and so bright,
I wonder…
Maybe one of them will carry Jesus Christ!

You know He’s coming in a cloud
When He returns to claim,
Those who’ve placed their trust in Him
Those who call upon His name.

Will His return be soon
Or linger for some time?
He’s always waiting patiently
For hearts to change, and minds.

The minutes turn to hours
And the days turn in to years,
But His coming will be swift and sure
Midst joy and midst tears.

Please don’t wait or hesitate
Make up your mind today,
Be prepared, don’t be late
He is the only Way!

Receive Him in your heart
So you’ll be heaven bound,
Repent of sin, enter in
When you hear the trumpet’s sound!

Jesus said, “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” ~ Luke 21:25-28

Denouncing Fear!

Lord, we’re in a time and place
Where we need to see You, face to face
To draw closer to Your touch
To look to You for oh so much!

Wisdom – allowing You to teach
To learn what before stayed out of reach,
With blinded eyes and hearts grown cold
Open us now, Lord, help us be bold.

To know Your will, to know You well
Sharing with others we can tell,
Of Your love and mercy, that You’re fair and just
And in only You can we put our trust.

Lord, before it becomes too late
And we know neither the time or date,
Pour out Your Spirit on those You can use
We must turn to You – there is much to lose…

No one can ever say about You
“God is not real. God is not true.”
But there are many who believe this to be
We see it each day – they just won’t believe!

You look at the heart and know in the end
The one who is seeking and who will repent,
The very things You require of man
To receive Christ – Your salvation plan.

The enemy may be dancing in glee
As he wins some battles but not victory,
He sets the trap and watches man fall
But You pick up those who answer Your call.

Might we stand by Your side while on bended knee
Denouncing the fear as our hope is in thee,
Help us be strong in the storm on its way
Christ will return – maybe today?

The Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3

“Follow Me”

Bring me to the place, Lord
Where I will follow You,
No matter what the cost
Or what I must go through.

Take this longing heart
That wants to be with You,
That wants my full allegiance
To be focused just on You.

I know that some day soon
You will call out to Your own,
You will escort all of Yours
To our great eternal home.

But until that day arrives
And on earth I worship Thee,
My heart will answer “YES”
When You say “Please follow me.”

Sweetness And Light!

We want everything to be sweetness and light
Everything always to be sunshine and bright.
But acknowledging reality and exposing what’s wrong
Will alert and direct us to pray to be strong.
God didn’t promise that there’d never be
Hardship and danger for you and for me.
He did promise though, that in all we go through
He’d be right there with us;

He’s GOD…
So we know this is true!

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” ~ Deuteronomy 31:6

Endure!

God protects from all harm
He gives us safety sure,
Turning to and trusting Him
Will help us to endure…

Endure to the end
All hardships that will come,
And calling out to Him
Until we’re safely home.

Hurt and sorrow – terror, too
God sees what is before us,
Jesus is the safety net
The One in which to trust.

We say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:6
Jesus said, “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:28

Protection!

God is our protection
In any storm in life,
In every way and every day
He’s our Refuge in all strife.

No man can ever hurt us
At risk of life or limb,
God always has us covered
Our safety is in Him.

The threat may overwhelm us
And panic overtake,
But fear can be dismissed
When our lives on Christ we stake!

You’ve heard the statement, “I’ve got your back”. That would be Jesus. He will let no harm befall us!

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, “Destroy him!” Deuteronomy 33:27
The Lord loves the just and will not forsake His faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off. Psalm 37:28

“Homeward Bound”

Take me home when You’re ready
To the place You have made for me,
To my mansion on high, where You’ve called me nigh
And where I have longed to be.

To be dwelling there with my Savior
And those who have gone before,
With angels around us, and love to surround us
Who would ever want more?

I wait for Your call to come homeward
My time is dependent on You,
My life’s in Your hands, like the sea’s shifting sands
I rejoice as I’m waiting for You.

Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:2-3

Yielding Until!

Lord. You know why I am troubled
And why I cannot sleep,
And how I pray for others
I pray so I won’t weep!

Only You convict
And only You can change,
But You put them on my heart
As You work to rearrange;
Against overwhelming odds
You strengthen and empower,
You move in hearts and lives
Every minute, every hour.

I am privileged to pray
And release them one by one,
Yielding troubles and these others
To You…until Your work is done!

I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8
Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Ephesians 6:18

Winter Weather!

Winter weather is upon us
It’s here to stay a while.
We must accept the way it is
And even with a smile!
Time to use the shovels
And time for the old snow plow,
Time for bundling up from the cold
And wishing we’d headed south?
The wind in the trees
And their covering of white
Is a wonderful part
Of Winter’s delight.
Being inside and out of the weather
Tucked in and cozy with loved ones together…
Taking advantage of this time we can spend
Slowing us down til it comes to its end…
Storms aren’t our choice
And may ruin our plan,
But always remember…
They come from God’s hand.
We can sit back, relax
Let go of our stressing
Enjoy this day
And thank God for each blessing!

When He utters His voice-There is a multitude of waters in the heavens: “He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightnings from the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries.” Jeremiah 51:16
