Denouncing Fear!

Lord, we’re in a time and place
Where we need to see You, face to face
To draw closer to Your touch
To look to You for oh so much!

Wisdom – allowing You to teach
To learn what before stayed out of reach,
With blinded eyes and hearts grown cold
Open us now, Lord, help us be bold.

To know Your will, to know You well
Sharing with others we can tell,
Of Your love and mercy, that You’re fair and just
And in only You can we put our trust.

Lord, before it becomes too late
And we know neither the time or date,
Pour out Your Spirit on those You can use
We must turn to You – there is much to lose…

No one can ever say about You
“God is not real. God is not true.”
But there are many who believe this to be
We see it each day – they just won’t believe!

You look at the heart and know in the end
The one who is seeking and who will repent,
The very things You require of man
To receive Christ – Your salvation plan.

The enemy may be dancing in glee
As he wins some battles but not victory,
He sets the trap and watches man fall
But You pick up those who answer Your call.

Might we stand by Your side while on bended knee
Denouncing the fear as our hope is in thee,
Help us be strong in the storm on its way
Christ will return – maybe today?

The Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3

Some thoughts…

The enemy can see our words on paper, hear them as they are spoken and use them to further his agenda. God can know our thoughts, see our words on paper, hear them as they are spoken and see and hear them in our hearts. He connects with our hearts as only He can because He lives in our hearts. As Christians, when our words glorify Him, it is because He has spoken His Word(s) in to our hearts and they come out in our thoughts, our speech and our desire to praise Him and share His love and mercy. It seems best to only speak/share words that honor our God who loves us so!

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

Old And New!

There is nothing new under the sun, but I was thinking…there is a lot of “old” under the sun. And old isn’t bad although new is good, too. Without old, there wouldn’t be experience and without experience there wouldn’t be wisdom and without wisdom new might not be so good!

“You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” isn’t always true. And sometimes a new dog should learn a few old tricks!

I think things should continue as they’ve always been – a mix of old and new. I mean, I enjoy my eclectic decorating theme; a blending of family antiques and a new little side table I recently purchased at TJMAXX. I love my new walking shoes to go with the old clothes I wear when exercising. These days I like the old news better than the new news! But when it comes to what works the best all around, the answer can be found in a very old book that works well in our new times.

And that would be the Holy Bible.

Hmm…that’s where “there is nothing new under the sun” comes from.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 “That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and THERE IS NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN.”

I’m not sure where “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” comes from, but my old Grandmother said it a lot and so did my older, but newer parents:)
